Denny & Lynn Russell’s 1972 Elky
Nor-Cal Club members Denny and Lynn Russell are the proud owners of this great looking 1972 El Camino. Denny began his search in 1996 for his "dream car," but it was his wife, Lynn, who found the car in the back-lot of a car dealership in San Jose.
Blowing off the dust that covered it, Denny could see that this was a good looking car. The interior was in great shape and that's all it took - They bought the El Camino.
Denny and Lynn are no strangers to classics and also own a Camaro and are active in the Camaro Club, but this one is the one that really catches the eye.
The original 350 engine was rebuilt by Victory Machine Shop in south San Jose. They have done many Club member engines. A new TH350 transmission was installed by Earl's Transmissions.
Some of the "go-fast" equipment that Denny has added includes: electronic ignition, Edelbrock performer intake and carburetor, headers, and a limited slip posi-traction rear end.
The recent addition of new wheels makes it look even better, if that possible.
Of course, the car had to have Denny's own signature license plate!
To be honest, If it were my El Camino, I would make sure my name was on it.
Denny keeps his car well waxed and ready to cruise and all he needs is an excuse to start the 350 engine. Ah, Lynn, I need to go to OSH for some parts... and, I think I'll take the El Camino.
Join Denny and Lynn, and other Nor-Cal members on the next cruise! The pride that everyone has in their classics is amazing!
