Bob Bertuccelli – A Very Red 1970 SS 396 Chevelle

After searching unsuccessfully for over three years, Bob Bertuccelli had given up looking for a Chevelle and started looking at Camaros.

Then, one day, while looking at a Camaro, the owner mentioned that his neighbor had a pretty nice 70 Chevelle for sale.

That was all Bob needed to hear! He contacted the neighbor and discovered that the "pretty nice" Chevelle was a matching numbers, 4-speed, SS396.

The original 396 CI (375 HP) engine had only 6K miles on a recent rebuild and only 82K original miles on the car.

Even though the engine was recently restored, Bob replaced it with a new 502 CI GM Performance (450HP) engine.

The original M-21 transmission was also replaced with a Super T10 4-speed transmission.

The car was originally sold in SF by Ellis Brooks Chevrolet, and it has stayed in the SF Bay Area.

As you can see, this red with white stripes and red interior SS396 will soon be a show winner.

Bob says that he continues to work on the car and has just completed replacing the front suspension.

You will find Bob driving his SS in the greater South Bay Area, and when you see him, say HI.
